19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his maiden championship for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid season, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in especial - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and finally separating with former coach Cervara.
Presently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first championship after the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt since that period of that year.
Success also indicates Medvedev has won 21 championships at 21 different events.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my children simultaneously, so to get a title is really nice," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had lost his last six championship matches, comprising in Halle earlier this year.
The player's counter-punching strategy and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had led some to wonder if his skill to play at the top level was finished.
Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform assertively, backed up by an better serve.
The champion came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five points to gain the advantage.
The pair traded service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a final set.
He defended 4 early chances in a tight third set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, he secured the title with a shot at the net area, with Moutet failing to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
